FIG TREE BAY & THE KING JASON HOTEL
Fig Tree Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus. One visit, and it’s easy to see why it has been voted as one of the best beaches in Europe, uou can’t help but feel like you’ve stepped onto. The King Jason Hotel, a Luxury Collection, designed for adults only, offers everything that travellers need for a relaxing holiday, with direct access to a beach front area, two vast, reclination and design-focussed swimming pools, and incredible views over Protaras bay.
The biggest problem with visiting the King Jason on Fig Tree Bay is that it will be too hard to leave!
Fig Tree Bay is located in the district of Protaras, Cyprus. It’s a short drive from Ayia Napa and Larnaca Airport, making it an accessible beach resort for long or short visits to Cyprus. There are many water sports available on this beach including jet skiing, banana boats, kayaking and more. The rea is known for offering wonderful water sports opportunities like scuba diving, kayaking and snorkelling so why not hire equipment from the local watersports centre? You can even go parasailing if you want something more thrilling! There are plenty of other activities available as well as scenic tours through neighbouring cities.
We indulged in a luxury sunset cruise, organised by Stavros Watersports, the most experienced and leading activities provider in Fig Tree Bay, and which was only a few minutes walk from the hotel itself. The hotel concierge can help you to arrange a cruise or watersports trip, and you can opt to tailor it to your needs; if you are celebrating a special occasion or simply wish to indulge in some added luxury, make sure to arrange for some wine and fruits to take on board your sunset cruise! The cruise consisted of a gorgeous private speedboat, with leather lining, and a true ‘Mediterranean luxury’ feel, across the hotspots of Fig Tree Bay, including the famous “love bridge” – a beautiful way to experience the sunset and the gorgeous bay, this is just one of the adventurous aspects available during a stay at The King Jason hotel.
The King Jason Hotel offers free and direct access to an unpacked, secluded enclave of the famous Fig Tree beach a few steps away. The waters are of the clearest and cleanest you will find in the Mediterranean – there really is no need to travel to the Maldives when you have the beautiful turquoise waters of Fig Tree bay.
There is a great selection of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area, including Mediterranean cuisine, beach clubs, and a subtle night life, just down the road from King Jason hotel. Once you’ve enjoyed all that Fig Tree Bay has to offer we understand how difficult it will be to leave! It really is one of those rare places where everything comes together perfectly – good food, beautiful surroundings and lots of activities make this beach resort an ideal holiday destination without having to travel too far from home.
We chose to dine at the hotel on an all-inclusive basis however as their dining options are of outstanding 5 star quality. The hotel’s main restaurant Piatakia offers day to night dining. The restaurant extends from the indoors to a stunning al-fresco setting. From table seatings, to beautiful Maldivian-style couches set above the water by the pool, the island-living dining styles and design here, really transforms the holiday and sets the King Jason apart as a perfect adults-only choice for luxury and reclination. The cuisines vary from night to night, and include daily live cooking stations at Piatakia, delivering fresh, tasty, global cuisine, great service and a tranquil location with superb views of Fig Tree Bay. The Meze-Greek taverna is an awesome, authentic concept especially for light/day-time dining, in their deli-inspired restaurant with a variety of local dishes and Greek specialties with a modern twist.
Both Piatakia and Meze-Greek’s all day dining and availability are perfect for a quick stop en route to the beautiful pool and outdoor jacuzzi areas to grab some refreshing fruits, salads, pastries or café fredos. All inclusive boards also offer the added benefit of poolside drinks, iced coffes, and alcoholic beverages throughout the day as you lounge on the unique, over-water pool beds, one of the signature and favourite design aspects of the hotel. The choices are endless.
The facilities at King Jason Hotel Protaras are to die for, with a very large open-air pool area where sunbeds line up alongside it in an organized way so everybody has enough space to spread out. There is also a Jacuzzi section which looks wonderful and relaxing after having spent some time under the hot Cyprus summer sun! Most of all great service by friendly staff members who will go above and beyond whenever they can, makes every guest’s stay as seamless and care-free as imaginable.
Hotel guests enjoy a variety of room types, with superior and deluxe suites as well as standard rooms on offer. Each type offers comfortable features including air conditioning and free wifi access while the larger suite options feature separate living areas for added privacy. Some studio suites offer the added privacy a floor-wide balcony with large circular cabanas, which can only be accessed by residents of the same suite-type, should you wish for that extra level of seclusion and space.
The King Jason Hotel in Protaras is designed for adults, but I left feeling like a new person! I cannot recommend this hotel enough, to couples who are looking for luxury accommodations with an adult feel – the pool areas offers both privacy as well as plenty of space for sunbathing the Sana health club and spa also provides some fantastic relaxation opportunities after a day of swimming and exploring the island. This hotel provides first-class service from beginning until end.
