Sky High dining by Lucky Cat at 22 Bishopsgate

An Elevated Experience, Set in the Clouds

London’s restaurant scene is no stranger to luxury, but Lucky Cat at 22 Bishopsgate by Gordon Ramsay offers an experience that quite literally takes things to new heights. Sitting atop Europe’s highest restaurant, diners are treated to unmatched panoramic views alongside exquisitely curated dishes inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Asia.

As we stepped into Lucky Cat Bishopsgate for their signature Sunday brunch, the excitement was palpable. The space itself is stunning—warm golden hues, bamboo accents, and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the cityscape like a living masterpiece. There’s an undeniable energy in the air, helped along by the hum of conversation and the rhythmic beats from a live DJ.

Asian Inspired, Culinary Excellence

The brunch menu is designed for sharing, making for a communal dining experience that encourages tasting and discovery. Priced at £55 per person, with optional bottomless drinks ranging from Prosecco (£40) to Champagne (£80), the spread is generous and well-paced.

The meal began with Kyoto cucumbers draped in a delicate sesame dressing and a steaming bowl of edamame sprinkled with Maldon salt, setting a fresh and simple tone before the more indulgent flavors arrived.

The chef’s selection sushi platter was a definite highlight—each piece an artwork of precision, from the delicate sea bass nigiri to the crisp soft-shell crab maki. Pairing bites of sushi with sips of signature cocktails (available as a bottomless upgrade for £60) heightened the experience, the flavors balanced and refined.

Small plates followed, featuring chicken and shiitake siu mai—soft, succulent dumplings paired with pickled ginger and spring onion. The egg fried rice with XO sauce and slow-cooked egg was a rich, umami-packed delight.

And then, came the bottomless bao. Tucking into the stone bass bao, Thai chimichurri adding a zesty contrast to the delicate fish, was an unforgettable bite. The GFC bao, featuring Ramsay’s famous fried chicken, was indulgent yet perfectly balanced by pickles and a hint of spice. Even the tofu & spicy avocado bao held its own, offering a creamy, plant-based alternative.

The meal concluded with a playful touch—the Lucky Cat Lollies, embossed with the restaurant’s iconic stamp, adding a fun and nostalgic final note.
