So when it comes to Christmas we are definitely going to stock up on Dukeshill’s festive hampers.

This Hamper (first photo) has to be the crowning glory in the Dukeshill hamper collection. You will fine 2 wicker baskets filled to the bream with the finest selection of delights offered by Dukeshill. A showstopper, brimming with only the finest festive food and drink. Christmas centrepieces include the Large St. George’s Ham, which is expertly cured before being baked in a glaze of spiced oranges, cinnamon, mace and cloves. You will also fine the whole side of superior Oak Smoked Salmon sourced from the cold waters of Western Scotland. There will also be a host of cheeses, chutneys, crackers and pâtés, along with the Celebratory Pork Pie specially crafted for Dukeshill by a top Melton Mowbray producer. Finished with an array of sweet treats including the Dukeshill Extra Large Christmas Pudding, Luxury Mince Pies and Turkish Delight selection. This perfectly balanced selection includes a rich and creamy Shropshire Blue, from the makers of Cropwell Bishop Stilton, a delicious new award-winning Cheddar from Trethowan’s Dairy – Pitchfork. There is also the delicate-flavoured Pave Cobble, an ash-coated sheep’s cheese.The total weight for the standard hamper is 1.1kg, and the large comes in at 2kg of cheese, plus a box of of Peter’s Yard Original Sourdough Crackers (105g)

European Favourite Cheese & Gluten Free Cracker Selection – £47.50 (standard) / £85.00 (large)
A beautifully curated selection of European cheese. This selection includes: Comté Vieux AOC – made from rich raw cow’s milk in the Jura mountains and matured for 18 months. Brie de Meaux AOC is a raw milk soft cheese with a bloomy rind produced in the Meuse. Morbier AOC – a semi-hard cheese made from the same rich raw cow’s milk as Comté. A layer of edible ash runs through its centre. Picos de Europa PGI – a blue-veined cheese from Leon in northern Spain. It is made from a blend of pasteurised cow’s and goat’s milk and wrapped in leaves. Monte Enebro – a semi-soft cheese goat’s cheese with a blue mould rind and a creamy white paste. It is made from pasteurised goat’s milk in Avila, central Spain.

  • Saint Emilion Gran Cru 2013, Jean de Trimoulet, Bordeaux, France – Fresh and fruity Bordeaux, hints of red berries, blueberry and raspberry, well balanced with gentle spicy notes.

We are impressed by this years lovely gift ideas from Wickham. For claret lovers, look no further than Wickhams’ Luxury Claret Gift Set containing Château Bechereau, Lalande de Pomerol 2017 (75cl, ABV 14%) and Château Gachon, Montagne-Saint-Émilion, 2016 (75cl, ABV 13%) in a luxury clasped wooden presentation case.

A classic full-bodied red, Lalande de Pomerol is a blend of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. Family owned Chateau Béchereau ferment half of the wine in stainless steel before ageing in oak barrels with the other half fermented in oak. The result, a classic claret with a good balance of black fruits, toasty notes and sweet spice.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, Château Gachon’s Montagne-Saint-Émilion is a classic French red with a deep ruby colour and soft nose of cherry, cassis and spice from oak aging. Well-balanced on the palate with a solid tannic structure it has a complementary soft mid-palate of ripe fruits including plums and red berries.

Chardonnay De Wetshof Estate Bon Vallon Sur Lie 2020 (75cl, ABV 13.5%) is a fresh and expressive Chardonnay from the internationally renowned De Wetshof Estate. A beautifully balanced medium bodied white, it’s matured on its lees resulting in a vibrant, lemony dry wine with a yeasty and delicate nutty clean long finish. The nose is delicate with aromas of lemon, honeysuckle blossom and peach.
